16 year old Okikiola Oluwanifemi Deborah has set a new Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) record for the school. The feat was achieved after the Lagos-born teenager amassed a total of 318 points out of the possible 400 in the 2021 UTME exam conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
A score of 90% in Physics, 83% in Chemistry, 77% in Biology and 68% in the Use of English was enough for her to set the new record. Her achievement hasn’t come as a surprise to many as she is widely known for her unparalleled commitment to her academic work.
In the same vein, James Araoluwa Semilogo scored a total of 293 points out of 400. Other performers who also gave a good account of themselves are Onabajo Oreoluwa, Oluwadamilare Toluwani, Olutade Bewaji and Adams Blessing with the following scores of 287, 286, 282, and 280 respectively. Oseni Quayum, Adejumobi Toluwalase, and Kassim Omobolanle had a joint 277 points out of the possible 400.
The principal of the school, Mr. Frederick Opata, has expressed his delight at the new development. He said the continuous excellent performance of students in external examinations over the years is a pointer to the many things the school has been doing right. “Our stance against examination malpractice and various quality assurance measures have been yielding fruits and this is one of them”, Frederick Said.
